The Suicide Arc follows Suicide and the six (later seven) Children of Amargosa in the decade following the Liberation of Amargosa. Suicide mentors her “Chosen Children” as they step into the adult world. Three will go to the Compact. Three more will stay with the newly formed Republic/Foundation, and one will leave a leadership role to do the work she dreamed of since childhood. They will grow from stumbling new adults to leaders and fighters in their own right.
Suicide Run – When Jayne Best disappears and her newborn is left in Suicide’s care, Cui Yun and JT Austin are pulled back into service to unravel a deeper conspiracy. Their search leads through shattered colonies, political limbo, and a brutal assault on the Thulian Enclave—revealing threats far beyond Amargosa’s borders.
Checkmate – A covert boarding operation shatters the uneasy peace as Suicide, JT, and Mitsuko scramble to extract a king, a queen-in-waiting, and the truth behind a devastating betrayal. The sabotage of the Marcus Aurelius marks the arc’s most brutal blow to Compact command since the Liberation.
Royal Orders – When an assassination attempt rocks King Edward Windsor’s diplomatic mission, Mitsuko Yamato is dispatched to investigate the growing threat of radical Cubist terrorism. Her journey leads her from the streets of Belsham to the sweltering jungles of Aphrodite, where she reunites with Suicide and faces off against a rogue zealot bent on divine war. As the Children of Amargosa rally to her side, Mitsuko leads a final assault on Mt. Buxanshal to stop the spread of fanaticism—and discovers how deep the rot has grown within the Compact’s fragile peace.
Another Way to Die – Cybercommand agent Eric Yuwono dismantles JunoCorp on Bromdar and uncovers a bioengineered virus tied to the attack on President ibn-Aziz. His mission continues on Hosh, where he assumes a false identity to trace Juno’s deeper operations beyond Compact space.
Suicide Gambit – Suicide Gambit follows Suicide, JT Austin, and Tishla as they race to reclaim Hanar from a violent insurgency. With the planet’s fragile human–Gelt alliance unraveling, the trio must navigate Realm politics, buried trauma, and personal sacrifice—culminating in a desperate bid for legitimacy, justice, and survival. As the Sovereign Himself descends to settle the crisis, the line between duty and identity blurs, and a hasty wedding may determine the fate of an entire world.
Breaking Liberty – Ellie Nardino and Tishla Austin must smuggle a missing Compact president through hostile space before Marcus Leitman discovers he’s still alive. Set in 437 IE, Breaking Liberty thrusts the Wolf Girl into a mission only she and Tishla can survive.
Jump – Connor Duffy’s chance encounter with a Gelt engineer named Shrian draws him into a covert operation involving stolen quantum entanglement technology. As Duffy, Peter “Tripod” Lancaster, and eventually the crew of the Endeavour become entangled—literally—with this breakthrough, they trigger the first direct contact with the mysterious Yedevans. The encounter reshapes the future of interstellar travel but comes at a cost: death, diplomacy under duress, and a technology humanity may not be ready to wield.
Davra's Endeavour – Davra Andraste is now a fully commissioned Compact Navy captain in command of the Endeavour. The story shifts between present-day political fallout and earlier flashbacks, charting the collapse of Juno’s influence, the fallout from the Yedevan incident, and Tol Germanicus’s final mission. As Davra guides the Endeavour to Melekan to recover critical Gelt longevity research, she finds herself entangled in the final reckoning of Compact, Realm, and Foundation interests. The novel culminates in the trial and execution of Tol Germanicus, presided over by his former lover Suri Mongano, and cements Davra’s emergence as one of the Compact’s most formidable young leaders.
Suicide Solution – When Tessa Dasarius and her daughter are taken hostage, Suicide is called in. She must convince Tessa’s reluctant son, JT Austin, to join the mission and recruit the rest of the Children of Amargosa in an operation that could alter humanity forever. And it may be Suicide’s last mission.
Suicide's Children – After Suicide vanishes, the Children of Amargosa must move on with their lives. JT reflects on being a girl dad as Athena reaches adulthood. Tishla undergoes the first Gelt rejuvenation treatment. Ellie learns to fly. Duffy must bring approach his wife’s former master as a favor to the Sovereign. Eric gets pregnant. Davra ponders a promotion. And a long-dead character finds a strange path back to the living.
