Claudius Dasarius was the controversial CEO of Dasarius Interstellar prior to 356 IE. His tenure is remembered for its erratic decision-making and eventual collapse, culminating in his forcible removal by the board of directors. Among his most baffling choices was relocating the megacorporation’s headquarters from Etrusca—a technologically advanced, politically stable core world—to Earth, a less influential and more volatile planet at the time.
Claudius married Noya, a minor royal from Bonaparte’s House Red Cloud, in what was widely seen as a strategic alliance to bolster his social standing. The couple had one daughter, Tessa Dasarius, whose life would be profoundly altered by her father’s downfall. Following his ouster in 356 IE, Claudius was exiled to an estate on Etrusca and barred from any involvement in company affairs for 84 years. His daughter, Tessa, was forced into an executive role at the age of 10, effectively ending her childhood—a decision she has never forgiven.
Despite his exile, Claudius remained a lingering threat. During his later years, he entered into a secret alliance with Marcus Leitman, scheming to retake the company from his daughter. He also planned to replace Noya with his servant and mistress, Cleana, prompting Noya to file for divorce. His deteriorating mental state and unstable personality became the subject of academic and public scrutiny; a Wikipedia Britannica entry on him openly questioned his intelligence and psychological fitness.
In 440 IE, Claudius made a final attempt to reclaim Dasarius Interstellar by force during a crisis in which Tessa and her daughter, Shaneese, were held hostage. The attempt ended with Claudius’s death at the hands of Suicide, a close ally of Tessa’s JT Austin and a veteran of the Amargosa campaign.
Both JT Austin and Tessa Dasarius held Claudius in deep contempt. Tessa rarely spoke of her father without bitterness, and JT shared her disdain, understanding his antics had partly caused the rift with his mother. Their mutual dislike extended to Claudius’s wife, Noya, whom several Lakota on Bonaparte, Dakota, and Deseret resented for her colonialist airs and rejection of their heritage.
