Ares, astronomical name Helios e, was a Class-E Planet so named because it resembled a fully terraformed Mars. A cool desert world, it nonetheless thrived as part of the three core worlds of Helios, the others being Tian and Demeter.
Over time, it became obvious an earlier species had terraformed Ares as the fossil record only went back one hundred million years, compared to 3-5 billion for most Class-E worlds. Cybercommand further determined that the same species left similar artifacts on Mud, a conclusion the Realm‘s intelligence reached as well.
