Big Five

Big Five Core Worlds
Affiliation: Compact of Humanity in Assembly
Status: Active
Type: Political & Economic Designation

Overview

The Big Five are the wealthiest, most powerful, and most influential core worlds within the Compact of Humanity in Assembly. While not an official governing body, the Big Five collectively shape much of the Compact’s economic policy, military strategy, and diplomatic posture.

These worlds are often the first to be consulted during major crises, and their combined political clout significantly affects Compact legislation, colonial policy, and foreign affairs.

Members of the Big Five

  1. Earth – Humanity’s cradle and home of Quantonesia, the Compact capital. Still politically important despite demographic and environmental decline.

  2. Mars – A terraformed powerhouse with a robust shipbuilding industry and a reputation for overreach. Former parent world of colonies such as Amargosa and Farigha.

  3. Tian – The wealthiest world in the Compact. A nearly Earthlike planet, home to Cybercommand and Tian Regional Command. Influential in both civilian and military spheres.

  4. Etrusca – A diplomatic and cultural hub. Renowned for its elite universities, cosmopolitan politics, and historically moderate influence across the Assembly. Original home to Dasarius Interstellar.

  5. The Caliphate – A highly organized and economically advanced world with a balanced system of secular and religious governance. Known for its strong biotech and legal sectors.

Influence and Power

  • The Big Five frequently anchor Assembly coalitions and are typically guaranteed cabinet representation under most Secretary-Generals.

  • All five are permanent members of the Security Council.

  • Their colonial networks, economic might, and diplomatic reach make them de facto agenda setters in both policy and strategy.

  • Despite their influence, internal rivalries—particularly between Earth, Mars, and Tian—often affect broader Compact consensus.
