Affiliation: The Realm
Type: Political institution
Summary:
The Seat of Supremacy refers collectively to the Sovereign’s throne, the inner council of caste leaders and senior officials, and the chamber in which they convene. As the highest authority in The Realm, it serves both as the locus of executive power and the symbolic heart of the Gelt political order. The term is used interchangeably to describe:
-
The physical throne upon which the Sovereign sits.
-
The inner council, composed of caste heads, religious leaders, and key officials.
-
The council chamber itself, where formal deliberations and debates occur.
Despite the confusion caused by its multi-layered usage, the Seat of Supremacy functions as the central governing body of the Realm and plays a crucial role in matters of succession, war, diplomacy, and caste relations.
Notable Events:
-
In 430 IE, the Seat became deadlocked following the Sovereign’s death. With the heir, Akon, still a minor, the Council resisted establishing a regency. After months of impasse, Sansar Aryanna was elevated to the throne under strict conditions, only to be assassinated shortly after.
