Patchi Rajani was a Kolkat from Aphrodite. He and his wife, Keernith were leaders in an underground iteration of ALF, a catch-all phrase for rebel or ethnic militias on the planet. He and his wife worked to resist Gerard Kurz‘s radical Cubist movement.
They made their living fishing in the river that ran past the village of Sumat. Originally part of a plural marriage of three men and Keernith, Patchi joked his brother husbands died satisfying Keernith’s sexual appetite, a fate he hoped to share. In 434 IE, they found Mitsuko Yamato as she fled Kurz. They took her in and allowed her to stay with them. However, Yamato was put off by their willingness to have sex in her presence, prompting her to leave their rented room for a few hours. Unfortunately, she was kidnapped by local thugs. One of Mitsuko’s troops, Sakimoto, paid the couple to turn her over to him in exchange for weapons and supplies when they reached Sumat. The couple believed Sakimoto wanted to return her to the Navy. In reality, Sakimoto had taken payment to turn her over to Jez Salamacis. When they encountered Border Guard troops, they safely turned her over to Cybercommand and revealed what they knew about Mitsuko’s former underling.
In 423, they helped orchestrate a wave of bombings in Sanctuary, earning them the moniker of “the Butchers of Sanctuary.”
Cybercommand took Patchi and his wife into custody, turning them over to the Navy aboard the Jack Swigert. At Mitsuko’s request, they were then turned over to Admiral Burke aboard her flagship, the Valles Marineris. Mitsuko and Suicide convinced them to participate in a final assault on Kurz on Mt. Buxanshal.
During the ride up, he and his wife continued their unusual antics, prompting Ellie Nardino and Davra Andraste to ride in the forward section of the bat wagon used to climb Mt. Buxanshal. After camping a kilometer below the peak, they participated in a firefight with Kurz’s lookouts.
