The Founders’ Mine was a large mine north of the Townships. It lay in the Amundsen foothills at the edge of Amargosa‘s Central Plains. The first mine on Amargosa, it supplied much of the raw materials to build the colony’s cities and the Transcontinental Maglev. The opening of other, more accessible mines led to the closing of the Founders’ Mine, though some mining still occurred in the surrounding region.
Lucius Kray setup the mine as headquarters for his “citizens militia.” However, the resistance, under command of Colonel Diana Jovann, seized the mine and drove out Kray. From then on, it would serve as the headquarters for the main resistance until the end of the Laral Occupation.
