Stranded...
John Farno is camping between domes on Barsoom, a terraforming project overseen by the Citizens Republic of Mars, when he is violently thrown about by winds and tremors. He soon finds his entire world and everyone he knows gone.
Farno will have to figure out how to survive on just the contents of a rover and whatever he can scavenge from the unaffected storage vaults.
And unlike Mark Watney, who merely had to wait for NASA to pick him up, Farno is 40 light years from the nearest human being with no faster-than-light communications, no ship, and no idea who tried to kill him and everyone else on this distant world.
