Sanctuary was a city built by Dasarius Interstellar on Aphrodite in one of its early attempts to bring peace and infrastructure to the war-torn world. The city served as the de facto capital of the protectorate.
The penultimate attempt to pacify the planet began in 420 IE. Among the company’s more notable employees during this project included Cui Yun, aka 'Suicide,', Gerard Kurz, Frederick Ansel, and Mank Sarpong. The Cubist Religion, both its radical faction and its mainstream variant, would take root in Sanctuary, though the peaceful mainstream sects would relocate to Belsham, with a commune established in Amargosa‘s southern plains.
In 423, the city suffered a series of bombings dubbed the “Sanctuary Massacre.” While primarily radical Cubist targets took most of the damage, it still resulted in heavy destruction of property and loss of life. The Rajanis, a plural marriage group that included Keernith and Patchi, known ALF fighters, became known as “the Butchers of Sanctuary.”
