The Compact Navy was the backbone of the Compact military. It maintained the bulk of the Compact’s fleet plus approximately half its combat and support craft.

As of 429 IE, the Navy had three major classes of combat ship: the Furious class, which functioned as a carrier fleet for launching space and combat sorties, and two heavy cruisers, the Woodrow Wilson and Olympus Mons classes, each dating back to the Earth-Mars War. Following the Gelt Incursion, member core worlds began contributing ships based on the Germanicus class, a wedge-shaped vessel with conceal projection drive. The larger classes, such as the Endeavour class, also had warp capability.

The OA-22 Falcon and the OA-20 Vulture served as the workhorses of the fleet as combat shuttles. Additionally, Falcons found use as civilian craft while the Vultures pulled double duty as diplomatic transports.

While the Navy maintained its headquarters on Earth, it had four regional commands, including one at Tian. The Navy never gave a name to its special forces units, which are simply known as “Naval Special Forces.” By tradition, the NCOIC of a Spec Force unit is a Marines NCO.
